The celebration of world book day event was also mentioned by all interviewees as
successful in raising the profile of reading for pleasure as there was increased
opportunities for discussion and pupils indicated that they enjoyed finding out teachers’
favourite book characters.
The particular challenges were mainly articulated by the 2 key members of staff and
included technical issues with the LiRe website, the logistics of monitoring the process
within the school and how they could sustain the impact of the programme in the
future.

Take time to explore the variety of activities on the website and adapt as
